About
A bit about me and how Clay came into my life
I did not love clay as a child.
It’s not that i DIDN’T like it. I never gave it a thought. Didn’t grow up with much visual arts. I recently found a report card from middle school and I got a very low grade on my art class. Oops!

Growing up my true love was medicine. Got my first stethoscope as a 4 year old and never had to choose a carreer.
Art slowly became important in my life after I graduated from medical school. But mainly as a voyeur. Had many artists as friends but never thought myself as one.
And then…it happened
I took my first ceramics class in my early 60’s. Overwhelmed after a deep personal loss, I looked for an activity that would bring some solace and peace of mind. I found clay! Or more precisely, clay found me! I never do things by half, so I immersed myself into all aspects of the art, spending entire 12 hour days in the studio and traveling accross the world to workshops

So you see…I am a lucky one!
Clay is not only my passion, but a way of living. A uniqe way to looking at the world. Walking through the streets of Santa Barbara where I reside, everything is a call for a new sculpture. Acorns become texture tools. Ocean sand, an addition to the clay…
